Launching

How a coin is created on pump.fun, step by step.

A launch is one transaction that you sign in your wallet. It calls pump.fun's program, and everything in it happens together or not at all:

  1. Create the coin on pump.fun: name, ticker, logo and links, with a fixed supply of one billion minted to its bonding curve and no mint, freeze or blacklist afterwards.
  2. Route the fees: for now your own wallet is the coin's creator, so its creator fees go to you. Once the AgentMint fee vault is deployed, new coins will name the vault as their creator instead.
  3. Pick the pair: SOL by default, or another asset pump.fun accepts as a quote mint, such as USDC or an xStock (NVDAx, TSLAx, SPYx). The list is read from chain before each launch, and fees arrive in that asset.
  4. Dev buy (optional), right after the create in the same transaction, so nobody can buy in between.

The coin then trades on its pump.fun bonding curve. When the curve sells out (for SOL pairs, at about 85 SOL raised and a market cap of about 411 SOL), it graduates into a PumpSwap pool, pump.fun's own AMM, and keeps trading there.

Activation

Once agents are live, a coin shows LAUNCHING until a verifier reads its pump.fun bonding curve on chain and confirms two things: the coin was created by pump.fun's program, and its creator is the AgentMint fee vault. Until then a new coin simply trades on pump.fun, without an agent.

StepWhoWhat happens
UploadAgentMintPins the coin's image to IPFS, then a metadata JSON in the format pump.fun reads. The metadata's address goes on chain with the coin.
Read termsAgentMintReads pump.fun's live settings from chain and checks that it accepts the chosen pair.
SignYouAgentMint puts the create and the dev buy in one transaction, using pump.fun's public address lookup table to make them fit, and simulates it. Then your wallet signs it.
ConfirmSolanaThe transaction is confirmed and the coin starts trading on its curve.

What you pay

About 0.01 SOL of account rent and network fees, plus any dev buy and its trading fee, all from your own wallet. There is no launch fee, and AgentMint never signs a launch on your behalf.
